Battlestar Cast Roundup!

Now that the series is done with shooting, the cast of Battlestar Galactica is moving on to other projects. Here's a completely unofficial roundup (run down?) of what they'll be up to in the coming months (or have been up to), gathered from various sources and fan sites around the web. If you have any info or corrections to add, please mention it in the comments!

Eddie Olmos (Admiral William "Husker" Adama) recently finished some voice work for Beverly hills Chihuahua and will be supposedly directing the next Battlestar Galactica movie (according to Ron... or was it David?)!

Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin) will be starring in director Jeff McCracken's movie Jimmy Nolan about a family raising an autistic boy, due out in 2009.

Jamie Bamber (Captain Lee "Apollo" Adama) recently completed the horror sequel Pulse 2: Afterlife in which he stars. He will be directing 5 of the 10 upcoming Battlestar webisodes and is almost officially cast in the new Law & Order: London TV series.

James Callis (Doctor Gaius Baltar) will be directing the other 5 upcoming webisodes and has a hefty schedule of convention tours of which we hope his scheduling doesn't get mucked again. Other than that, we're waiting on news of what James is moving on to next. Will he break his Baltar typecast?

Tricia Helfer (Six) started up fresh with the second season of Burn Notice this month, and has recently been cast for the pilot of Fox's Inseperable as a police psychiatrist.

Grace Park (Boomer, Athena, etc.) has been working on the new series The Cleaner, which ran it's pilot on July 15. Good luck! A little FYI: Grace and Tricia Helfer both voiced characters for the recent EA video game release Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Sweet!

Katee Sackhoff (Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace) got a taste of video game fame with Halo 3, and has now been spotted at the new viral ARG sites for the game Resistance 2 known as 'Project Abraham'. Maybe she's found a new genre? We will still be able to get a Katee fix on TV this fall as she's slated for at least a few episodes of Nip/Tuck. She'll be playing a motorcycle riding anaesthesiologist, one of her actual favorite past-times (motorcycles, not anaesthesiology).

Michael Hogan (Colonel Saul Tigh) seems to keep a pretty low profile. Other than the BSG movie and perhaps the webisodes, you'll probably see Mike at conventions?

Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen Tyrol) is looking more like a budding film star. We'll see him in two new feature productions by the end of the year; the horror Blood: A Butcher's Tale, and the remake of sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still. Aaron isn't abandoning TV completely though. He's currently in Toronto shooting a new pilot for a Canadian police drama tentatively titled The Bridge.

Tahmoh Penikett (Lt. Karl "Helo" Agathon) will be in Joss Whedon's upcoming TV series Dollhouse, and I think I speak for most of us that we are VERY excited about everything before the comma in this sentence. Also catch Tahmoh in the horror-comedy flick Trick 'r Treat out in 2009.

Allesandro Juliani (Lt. Felix Gaeta) will be in the romantic comedy Traveling which is now in post-production. Allesandro is a talented singer and also has done voice work for several anime productions. We're hoping he'll speak on the English dub of the Death Note movie!

Rekha Sharma (Tory Foster) is also in Traveling (see above for Allesandro), and has been making appearances at the conventions. Otherwise, no more projects on the slate for her.

Michael Trucco (Sam Anders) will be in the pilot TV series Man of Your Dreams due to air this fall. This fangirl really, really, really, really *kicks self* hopes to see even more of Michael in the future.

Kandyse McClure (Officer Anastasia Dualla) will appear in indy flick Cole, and production is wrapping up for The Disposables, in which she costars. Kandyse has also made appearances in the show Reaper this year.

Nicki Clyne (Crewman Specialist Cally Henderson) doesn't seem to have anything in production at the moment, but she's been somewhat active on the convention circuit, interviewing, and recently appeared as a guest host on the Canadian Hypaspace network for a weekly culture and entertainment segment.

Donnelly Rhodes (Doc Cottle) has made guest appearances in a plethora of TV shows, most recently in Smallville and The L Word. The latest movie he appears in is Riddle of the Sphinx, filmed largely in Canada.

Leah Cairns (Lt. Maragaret "Racetrack" Edmonson) is in the movie Helen (her character's name is Susanna), and has also been in the TV show Kyle XY. Rumor has it that our Racetrack is filming in Argentina as Queen Ma'at in Tales of an Ancient Empire, the prequel to The Sword and the Sorcerer.

Bodie Olmos (Brendan "Hot Dog" Costanza) doesn't have anything in production at the moment, but he hung out at SDCC and surely we'll see him at more cons and just hanging out with dad.

Paul Campbell (Billy Keikeya) hasn't been seen as Billy for way too long! He may be the only cool thing about the new Knight Rider TV series aside from the car, where ironically his character is also named Billy. Paul stars in the romantic comedy Play the Game which finished production this year. He also starred in National Lampoon's Bag Boy which hit the festival circuit last year. I mention a 2007 movie because it looked hilarious and I love Billy! ... I mean Paul.

Luciana Carro (Captain Loanne "Kat" Katraine) has been working on several other projects since we last saw Kat, including Blades of Glory and Snowglobe. The action flick Fast Track is in post-production now.

Richard Hatch (Tom Zarek) is very active on the convention circuit, and he has two new sci-fi movies on the horizon; Starship II: Rendevouz with Ramses and InAlienable.

Jen Halley (Crewman Specialist and now nugget Diana Seelix) finished her first short film Sarah in the Dark, in which she wrote, directed, and costars.

Kate Vernon (Ellen Tigh) has no new projects, but has shown up at some conventions and pokes in for an interview every now and then.

Callum Keith Rennie (Leoben Conoy) is in The X Files: I want to Believe, and has two more upcoming movie appearances; Case 39 and Of Murder and Memory.

Matthew Bennett (Aaron Doral) appears in a recent episode of Flashpoint and is currently filming for the movie Spectacular!.

Lucy Lawless (D'anna Biers aka "The Notorious 3"). Need I say more? I kid. She's got 2 movies coming up: Bedtime Stories and Bitch Slap. She voiced Wonder Woman (ah, if only they would cast her and make the live action movie!) in Justice League: The New Frontier. She recently came down from a ski trip in the mountains of NZ to make it to SDCC.

Dean Stockwell (Brother Cavil) is appearing in Al's Beef and the upcoming The Dunwich Horror. Aside from his lengthy cast credits, Dean is also an accomplished and talented artist who continues to exhibit and even does album covers.

Tiffany Lyndall-Knight (The Hybrid) is in Case 39 along with Callum Rennie, and others from the Galctica cast (Must be an agency thing?). She is also in the recently completed movie Mothers & Daughters.

Lorena Gale (Elosha) is in the upcoming The Day the Earth Stood Still, as well as Traitor, The X-Files: I want to Believe, and the pilot episode of The Middleman.

Mark Sheppard (Romo Lampkin), who is incredible, has appeared in the TV show Shark, and will be appearing in an episode of the upcoming TV show The Middleman. No other projects seem to be on Mark's plate right now, but he is very active in the convention circuit, and we can be sure we'll see him do something brilliant in the near future.

Michelle Forbes (Admiral Helena Cain) made a stunning appearance in the first part of the most recent season finale of Lost. Since then, she has been in the recently completed French thriller Dorothy Mills. Other recent TV shows include In Treatment and Waking the Dead.

Sam Witwer (Crashdown) hasn't been seen on Battlestar since the early years, but I have to give him an honorable fangirl mention since he is the 'Secret Apprentice' for the huge new Star Wars video game franchise The Force Unleashed. Aside from promoting the new game, Sam has appeared in the TV shows CSI and Smallville most recently, and is in the movie Game which is still in post-production.

What about...

Stephanie Chavez-Jacobsen (Kendra Shaw from Razor) is cast for the proposed American remake of the British TV series Life on Mars. Stephanie has two movies in the works; Quantum Apocalypse and an untitled sci-fi horror directed by Jason Connery.

Nico Cortez (Young Bill "Husker" Adama from Razor) is one of those actors I've been trying to watch, but haven't seen any new productions of note from him since his Razor appearance. Hopefully we will!
