Your Top 10

Here's a little happy fun time task for you all, inspired by Rive's wise crack comment in the last entry (thanks for the background image BTW Rive, much easier to read me thinks), also inspired by the infamous Stooge's top tenners (hey, I think I'll invite the old muppet over here).

Make a list of the top ten things you're going to do while waiting a frakking eon for season 4 to start, and post it here in your own entry.

Here's my list:

#10 - Shave my head, let it grow out, shave it again, then let it grow out until it is the same length it is now (which is rather long).

#9 - Polish up my armor. Shiny!

#8 - Drink myself into oblivion, then go to rehab.

#7 - Get out of rehab and have a Frak Party!!

#6 - Back to rehab I go (it was a pretty good Frak Party)

#5 - Polish me armor again matey, and all me friend's armor too.

#4 - *sigh* I suppose I'll watch everything on DVD so far AGAIN... not once, not twice, but THRACE... as in Kara!

#3 - Finally, I'll get around to watching the original series *and* the movie... maybe even twice or Thrace each!

#2 - I'll prolly watch the Star Wars saga over and over, and cry about not being at C4 :(

#2.5 - (Hey, if they can make a season 2.5, I can have it on my list too!) I think I'll take up knitting again and make several hats.

And the #1 thing I will do by the time season 4 is aired....

- Age!

(erm - there aren't really a lot of old people on BSG to fully illustrate this point :D)

YOUR TURN!

no, no, no - don't post your list here! post your own entry, unless of course you're not signed up as a contributor. if that's the case, or if you just want to make snarky remarks on my list, comment away :D

If you just watch the original series, you'll probably only need a drink.

If you try to watch the sequel series, Galactica 1980, you won't be out of rehab until Season 6 is about to air.

Cottle, Cavil, and Tigh (Tylon now) are no spring chickens.

advice taken. i don't think i'll be able to take another stint in rehab :p

soo - the original series(es):

what is the run down? i know i could look this up in battlestar wiki, but maybe one of you know:

was it the original 1978 series first, and did that run for one season?

then came the movie?

then came the 1980 series, and that lasted one season??

- i'll be chugging ambrose while i wait for the answer :D

*possible semi-spoilerish stuff below*

oh yeah - i know the doc, "no eye tigh", cavil and adama aren't exactly cadets... but exaggeration is my forte. plus - tigh and cavil probably don't age, or at least very slowly (we have yet to know the workings of the 5).. and maybe adama or cottle are the fifth? hmmmm.

The movie was actually the pilot of the series. They later showed the pilot movie in the theatres.

The original Galactica in 78-79 only ran for one season and then was cancelled. It's specualted that it was because of the high budget to produce the show.

Galactica 1980 also ran for only one season, although it was cancelled before the season even finished; there were only 10 episodes.

:)

thanks hansgirl! got it:

1st - movie/pilot
2nd - 78 series (one season)
3rd - 1980 series (>one season)

phew!

now, isn't it true that there is a DVD box set that has *everything* listed above?

Well, I haven't seen a box set that contains Galactica 1980, however I own the box set with the pilot and original Galactica. It's so cool, too, as the cover is a cylon helmet and it's "3D" with a kind of holographic (not really) cylon eye. Love it!

I've seen that cylon helmet box set. I guess I figured that was the one that had everything, including BSG 1980, since it's so shiny lookin' and all (except it looks hard to store on a DVD rack) :p

So - is BSG 1980 available on DVD at all? I've looked around and can't seem to find it. I suppose I could [cough]download it[ /cough], but from what Rive says, that might cause harm to my person.
